I met Khila (age 9 months) while photographing babies at the mall - a fundraiser for The Children's Miracle Network. Her Mom brought her in to the studio after that and I have watched Khila and her brother Kaleb grow into lovely children. They are Irish step dancers, so it was pretty cool that they came in on St. Patrick's Day this year!
I thoroughly enjoyed photographing nearly-grown-up Khila and fun loving Kaleb today. Erin Go Bragh!

Classic Style
I had such a wonderful time photographing my friend Kathy and her beautiful daughter Rachel. We laughed throughout the session and, since they brought white blouses, I tried to recreate the feeling of a classic high key portrait style I have always liked.
I love the result and it reminds me of a photograph my mother had taken when she became engaged in 1946 - by Bradford Bachrach, of the famous Bachrach Studios in New York.
I think black and white portraits are still some of the most compelling photographs to look at and retain their universal appeal in the age of instant access photography.

Let's Pretend!
I have photographed sweet Ellen, age 4, for several years now and on her last visit to the studio she decided to wear some of her pretty princess dresses. We played and she twirled, it was a joy to watch her! Doesn't every little girl dream of this? Thank you, Ellen, for making our session so much fun.

A Celebration
The First Congregational Church of Burlington is saying goodbye to the Reverend Bob Lee who has served their community for 18 years. I attended a celebration of his ministry on Saturday and witnessed a wonderful afternoon of remembrance, love, respect and laughter. The chapel was packed with friends who came to show their appreciation for Bob and his wife Donna.

There were gifts from the community and Sunday school classes, a slide show, music, great food, some tears and much affection.
I was privileged to have been asked to create a portrait of Bob to hang with those of other former ministers at the church. It was wonderful to be invited to see the portrait unveiled and to see where it will be displayed. I enjoyed working with Bob and Donna and I think his character and vitality are evident in the image.

Dave & Fred
I photographed a beautiful wedding in late October. Dave and Fred came to Vermont from Texas to get married. It rained all day, but you can see it didn't dampen their spirits.
Greg Trulson and Willie Docto of the Moose Meadow Lodge in Duxbury hosted the event and Greg, who's a JP officiated at the ceremony. It was very moving and memorable. Dave and Fred met over coffee, so the mugs were a special part of their day. Best wishes for a long and happy life together!

Growing Up
Oh, my goodness! Veve, Gage and Bre came to the studio for their holiday portrait and they are growing up! One of the most enjoyable things I get to do is see children and families at least once a year and catch up with their doings. These little guys made the trip from Littleton, NH today and, despite that long trip, look as happy as can be. Thank you for coming to see me today and for your generous donation to Camp Sunshine!

Cole!
My young friend Cole was in today for his portrait and his family made a generous donation to Camp Sunshine - my annual fundraising recipient this year. I have enjoyed photographing Cole since he was an infant. He's polite, interesting, has a big golden heart and is the best dressed nine-year old I know. We had a great time, as always. Thanks, Cole! I know Christmas is coming when I see you every year!
